How We Got Started.
The idea for Anything But Ordinary started in a waiting room at UCLA Medical Center. My son Cole was wearing a t-shirt that had a funny little quote on it. I noticed that more people than usual stopped to say “hello” and acknowledge Cole and I. The t-shirt was both an icebreaker and a conversation sparker. In the conversations that followed I was able to give people I spoke with some information about Cole and his disabilities. As I drove home, I was inspired and determined to create a whole line of shirts with different quotes that would empower individuals wearing the shirts while enlightening and educating the people who read them.
Our mission to encourage tolerance and understanding of every person regardless of race, gender, disability, or beliefs. We hope our shirts will serve as a conversation starter and encourage thought that’ll leave a lasting impression on all who read them.
